The Martian

I've been reading THE MARTIAN, by Andy Weir. Read it, I dare you to put it down. I had to do a few speedies of what I was seeing in my head as I read it. Here's a few.

Leviathan in the Dog Park

This is a quick speed painting of a pond/puddle. I thought the way the cherry blossoms on the water looked was particularily interesting, and did a reflection/sub water surface study of it after the fact.

"Speeder" sketch

Started with random shapes, and let it take me from there.
I want to fly this thing. I love how stuff just evolves (and sometimes face plants too)

Nomads 2

This is a sketch from a Nathan Fowkes color class via schoolism. I highly recommend this class, he knows his stuff.
I am pushing colors I usually shy away from and no 3D. Great learning experience for me.
